Power cable VVGng-LS 1 kV

Description:
The VVGng-LS cable is a power conductor made of copper. Insulating material made of PVC composition has a reduced level of flammability and a low level of smoke and gas emission. The use of VVGng-LS found itself during installation in various rooms:

    production facilities, special blocks and overpasses. The voltage class is in the range of 660/1000 V at rated alternating voltage at a frequency of 50 Hz. Possesses a high level of fire safety and non-combustibility. The VVGng-LS cable allows the transmission and distribution of electrical energy in installations operating on direct current. One of the features of the VVGng-LS wire is its enhanced protection against ignition processes.
    It has a large selection of the working cross-section range, due to which VVGng-LS can be used to connect electrical loads of various ratings. The most common cable cross-section sizes in a large square for connection in high-power electrical networks: (four-core) 4×16, 4×25, 4×35, 4×50, 4×70, 4×95, 4×120, 4×150, 4×185, 4×240, (and five-core) 5×16, 5×25, 5×35, 5×50, 5×70 , 5×95, 5×120, 5×150, 5×185, 5×240. The price depends on the cable cross-section. The larger the square, the higher the price, since the main cost of the cable is copper.

    Cable marking VVGng-LS and VVGngd are the same in design (mean one product). The letters in the markings for English (LS lowe smoke) and Russian (d) writing indicate the same function – reduced smoke emission during forced combustion. The terminology “LS” is taken from the English phrase “Low Smoke”, which literally means “low smoke”, and in technical Russian-language literature “little smoky” or in cable marking – “with reduced smoke emission”.

    Unlike PVC jackets, LS cables use protection made of thermoplastic materials, which practically do not generate smoke and significantly reduce the spread of flame, which allows people to leave the fire zone more easily, and employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations more quickly carry out their work to eliminate the source of fire … LS compounds are usually based on polyolefin and doped with hydrated minerals, resulting in a clear and less dense smoke.

    Design:

    The power cable VVGng-LS is produced with a copper conductive core – single-wire or multi-wire, round or sector-shaped, class 1 or 2 according to DSTU.
    Copper conductive core: (number of cores: 1, 2, 3, 3 + 1, 4 and 5 pcs.):
    single-wire (class 1) with a cross section of 1.5-50 sq. mm,
    multiwire (class 2) with a cross section of 50-240 sq. mm;
    Wire insulation and sheath VVGng-LS are made of PVC-plastic with low fire hazard.
    Insulated conductors of two-, three-, four-core cables are twisted. Two- and three-core cables are produced with conductors of the same cross-section, four-core cables can have one conductor of a smaller cross-section (grounding or zero).
    Insulated conductors of cables have a distinctive color: zero – blue, ground conductors – two-color, green-yellow.

    The decoding of VVGng-LS includes the designation of the material of the veins. In the absence of the designation “A”, the wire is copper:

    B – designation of insulating material. Internal insulation is made of polyvinyl chloride.
    B – material of the outer shell. Material similar to basic insulation.
    D – there is no protective coating (bare conductor).
    ng – does not support combustion processes.
    LS – “low smoke”. Low level of gas and smoke emission.

     

    Application:

    VVGng-LS cable is used for transmission, distribution of electrical energy in places with the presence of people, for supplying power to electrical equipment and lighting both inside buildings and on external cable structures and electrical appliances. In the event of a fire, the cable conductor does not propagate combustion (that is, when removed from an open flame, it quickly dies out), and when it is on fire, it emits a smaller volume of gas and smoke compared to the basic version of VVG. The latter quality of non-metallic parts is necessary so that during a fire, people in the room inhale a lower concentration of harmful substances, as well as to ensure unhindered evacuation.
    The predominant application is stationary group laying in cable structures, indoors or in electrical installations located in residential, commercial, office buildings and structures. The most preferred applications for LS cable are overground, underground, sea and air transport, thermal power plants, nuclear power plants, communication switching centers, tunnels, hotel complexes, theaters and large nightclubs. VVGng-LS wire is laid in blocks and on special cable racks; laying in the ground or in trenches is not recommended.

    Features of the cable conductor:
    – can be used in rooms with high humidity.
    – laying can be carried out at a height. Therefore, it is used in underground networks and mines.
    – in the presence of an open hearth of combustion, it does not propagate combustion processes.
    – technical characteristics of VVGng-LS allow operation at various humidity levels.
    – installation in air areas.

    Technical characteristics of VVGng-LS cable:

    Working voltage: 660/1000 V;
    Frequency: – 50 Hz.
    Relative humidity: can reach 98% at a temperature of + 35°C.
    Operating condition: -50 and + 50°С
    Installation work temperature without heating: -15°С;
    Minimum bending radius for installation work: 7.5 diameters with stranded wire, 10 diameters with solid wire
    Operating operating temperature: up to 70°С, in emergency situations up to 90°С, in short circuit mode up to 160°С, Maximum long-term permissible temperature: 400°С.
    Service life: 30 years.
    The outer diameter of the VVGng-LS cable differs depending on the nominal cross-section, the parameters are given in the table below.
