Wire single-core copper PV-3, PV-3ng, PV-3ngd

ПВ  e

Description:
PV-3 wire is a copper power conductor insulated with PVC. The sphere of its use is rather wide: with its help electric mechanisms and devices are connected, power and lighting networks are laid. The main difference between PV-3 and PV-1 is flexibility. The conductor has increased flexibility and is able to withstand all sorts of bends and turns, while PV-1 has the lowest class of flexibility.

    Required cable section

    Number in meters

    The PV-3 installation mounting wire has one copper core. It has high strength and flexibility. Due to the fact that the core is multi-wire, the product has a good conductivity.
    The nomenclature series has a different cross section in PV-3 – 1×0.5, 1×0.75, 1×1, 1×1.5, 1×2, 1×2.5, 1×3, 1×4, 1×6, 1×8, 1×10, 1×35, 1×50, 1×70, 1×95 the price of the wire depends from the intersection.

    Construction:
    PV3 wire is single core. A wire made of copper is used as current-carrying parts.
    In order for the wire to be flexible, each conductor is made of several wires twisted together. So wires with a cross section of 0.5 to 35 mm2 are made of at least 7 separate wires.
    The smaller the cross section of each individual wire, the higher the flexibility of the wires.
    The flexibility class may vary depending on the cross section of each individual core. For example, a wire with a diameter of not more than 0.79 mm can be used for PV 3 wires.
    In this case, the wire will have a flexibility class of 3. If a wire with a diameter of not more than 0.53 mm is used, the characteristics of such a wire will allow it to be classified as a 4th flexibility class.
    And here for wires with a section in 50 – 95 mm2 section of each separate wire should be no more than the values specified in DSTU for the third class.
    By the way, the number of these wires must be at least 16 pieces.
    Wire color. The main colors are white, black, blue, red, yellow-green, yellow, but at the request of the customer can be made any color of the insulation surface.
    Pay attention! At two-color coloring of a wire on any site of isolation in the length of 15 mm the ratio of colors should be within 30 – 70%.

    One of the main mechanical characteristics of any wire is the ability to bend it. This is especially true for PV3, which is a flexible wire. The allowable bending angle directly depends on the diameter of the wire, so everywhere it is specified based on this parameter.
    For PV3, the allowable bending radius is at least ten of its outer diameters. This parameter is checked during commissioning and periodically during operation.
    One of the important parameters is the operating temperature range of the wire. For PV3 it is – 50⁰С – + 70⁰С. It is important to note that the installation of the wire can be carried out only within temperatures not lower than -15⁰C.
    Also quite relevant property, in the performance of “ng” is not the flammability of the cable. In this case, some products may not only have a class that does not support combustion, but also refers to wires with low smoke and gas emissions, such as PV-3ngd price, which is slightly higher than usual.
    The service life of such a wire is 15 years. In this case, if the wire does not come into contact with aggressive environments and has no contact with the external environment, its service life can be extended.
    Another important electrical characteristic is the insulation resistance of the wire. It must withstand the operating voltage for a long time. To do this, the insulation is subjected to high-voltage tests
    PVC wire insulation in the performance of “ng” is not engaged in flames, and in the performance of “ngd” during a fire also does not spread toxic smoke. These products work perfectly in normal conditions, are easy to install, are not afraid of the aggressive environment.

    Decoding of PV-3 wire:
    The letter “P” in the abbreviation indicates that this conductor is a wire.
    The second letter indicates the insulation material. In our particular case, it is “B”, which means vinyl or as it is also called polyvinyl chloride, ie PVC.
    The number 3 at the end indicates the class of wire flexibility. There are 6 classes in total. And the lower the number, the less flexible the wire.
    designation “ng” – indicates that this wire does not propagate combustion, and “ngd” not only does not propagate combustion, but also has a low emission of smoke and gas during a fire.

    Application:
    Where is this wire used? Due to the fact that PV-3 has a wide range of cross sections and simple technical characteristics, it is used in almost all areas of production and industry: the formation of an individual electrical network, installation of wiring in the apartment, connecting appliances and more.

    Areas of application of the product can be divided into the following sections:
    communication systems;
    residential, non-residential and industrial premises;
    electrical wiring, both indoors and outdoors.

    The PV-3 cable is used when installation and commissioning works are carried out in the equipment and installations working on an electric current in networks with voltage to 450 volts and frequency of an electric current to 400 Hz. If the cable is used at direct current, the voltage is limited to 1000 volts.

    High flexibility of a cable is a big advantage at laying and its use in lighting networks, both in the industry, and in a life. In case of overheating or fire, the cable insulation does not burn, but self-extinguishes, all thanks to the special composition of the shell ingredients. This composition protects the cable from mold and vibration.

    In the industry, agriculture and in a life there are the most various situations and designs when the increased flexibility of a cable is necessary. In this case, choose PV-3. If necessary, gaskets in various switchboards, metal cabinets and various consoles, from where the control is connected to the connected equipment, machines, etc. Use all kinds of building structures, trays, pipes made of metal or plastic, mounting boxes or trays in lighting circuits; concrete, metal, plastic boxes, trays or pipes located on the ground. When laying the PV-3 cable in an environment with a temperature below minus 15 degrees. Celsius, the cable must be heated to avoid mechanical damage, especially in bends. The laying of the PV-3 cable must be protected from possible condensation or moisture.
